Still waiting....
What a day! It started with a revised counter offer, which we countered, and now are waiting on a response. It continued when I talked to the mortgage guy to have him run yet another set of numbers for us, which didn't exactly jive with some he had shown us before. It almost looked like he applied the wrong profile to the numbers I asked him to run. He even had the county wrong.

Tonight's exciting plans include cleaning Andy's cage (as it's beginning to smell) and doing our taxes. Unlike last year and next year, this year we'll be filing with the EZ form, which means it should take no more then half an hour to get the federal taxes done. With luck we'll see rebates for each of us. Maryland's taxes will have to wait for another night as after I finish the taxes it'll probably be time for agility.

On the health front I'm feeling tons better. I still have an occasional cough, and I still feel a little stuffy, but I am on the mend! Of course a week of herbal tea has had a lasting effect. It seems my travel mug has absorbed that herbal flavor, and this morning's coffee was the unfortunate victim. Here's hoping a little bit of water and vinegar can help clear up this unpleasant aftertaste.

It seems that a final answer on the house may have to wait till tomorrow.

Scrub my fingers to the bone!
I've been cleaning the house most of the day, with some breaks to go to the post office, bank, and library. It's amazing how dirty things can get, and how quickly! We cleaned the house pretty thoroughly before we left for North Carolina, and we've been home about a week now, and yet I'm having to scrub some serious serious dirt. Now sure, there was some stuff we skipped. For instance I didn't really scrub out the tub before we left, so I did that today. The upstairs toilet was cleaned with a metal brush at some point before we moved in, and the stains are really hard to get out. Right now I've got borax soaking on it. I'm keeping my burny/itchy fingers crossed.

Sunday, domestic Sunday!
So far today I've:
  • Gone to the farmers market in Baltimore with [info]tigergladys.

  • Danced with rodenthoardeLucymonster

  • Baked a pumpkin pie using my own recipe (we'll see how that works out) (eggs & pumpkin from the farmers market)

  • Cooked bacon so we could have BLT's for lunch (bread provided by farmers market)

  • Put a stew in the crock pop, made of many ingredients from the farmers market.

  • 2 loads of laundry

  • 1 sink of dishes

I think that makes it a very good day so far!

Now we're off to an open house. Later!

Being Productive
Unlike certain plague-rats who shall remain nameless *cough*[info]sallythetimid*cough* we did a lot of cleaning here this weekend. My Aunt and cousins came to visit on Saturday, so Friday night and Saturday morning Tigs and I went around the house and completed what could easily be called an early winter cleaning. Looking at the weather you might almost mistake it for spring cleaning, but looking at the calendar (again and again just to be sure) it is in fact only a couple of weeks into winter. Now this wasn't the sort of cleaning one does 15 minutes before company arrives and you run around the house stuffing things into drawers. Oh no! This was real cleaning! After the cleaning we went to Ikea where we met my family and had breakfast. Actually due to very clear roads (and what I suspect were illegal speeds) they got to Ikea about 20 minutes before we expected them to get there, so we were late... sort of. Anyway, we get there, eat, walk around Ikea, and Tigs and I pick up a pair of racks for the closet.

After visiting Ikea we came back to the house, talked, watched X-Men 3, and had chilli ([info]silentrequiem's recipe). After the visit Tigs and I went and put together the shelves, and then dug out all of the fabric that was in various boxes in the closet. Many small scrap pieces were tossed, a pair of pants was discovered, and everything else was organized and put away. Then, in the spirit of organization I pulled out several boxes of my terrain making and other hobby stuff, sorted through them, tossed stuff that I'm not going to use any time soon (and can easily replace) and repackaged everything in a more coherent way. I even re-boxed my unpainted minis. I had them put in ziplock bags stored in two diamond comic boxes, and now they are in a rubber bin that until recently held fabric. Then we watched some more Gilmore Girls and then called it a night.

Today we've made a little progress on our home made dog bed. Tigs also started a new project; Roman Shades for the back windows over the washer and dryer. Currently we are listening to Prairie Home Companion and she is sewing the pockets for the rods right now! (Lucy is helping.)

My project was to toss a few miniatures I'll not be using onto e-bay.

Now I'm going to start working on Amon Hen, also to sell on e-bay.
